Department of Economics
* About Department:
The Department of Economics was established in 2002. The Department regularly organizes various academic activities to develop research culture among students. Organization of National and State level seminars, workshops, Village surveys, Bank visits, study tours, discussion on budget, Expert lectures, Celebration of various days related to economics are among the continuous activities of the department. Alumni of the department are working at various sectors i.e. Education, Public Administration, Banking, Insurance, Industry, Agri-business and Self-employment. Innovative teaching- learning methods have also been introduced. Department is consistently working on development of skills of students which are very important in changing socio-economic conditions. Department runs Certificate Course in Banking since 2017-18. Department has MoU with Shivaji University Economics Association, Kolhapur (SUEAK) and linkages with Giristhan Kala Vanijya Mahavidyalay, Mahableshwar and Yashwantrav Chavan Mahavidyalay, Pachawad.

Youth motivated with economic perspective to study local economy in the context of National and Global context.
* Department Mission:
The mission of the Department of Economics is to provide, through both teaching and research, a better understanding of the local, national and global economic issues that the society confronts.
* Objectives of the Department:
- To develop computer literacy and skills among the students to acquire the knowledge of Quantitative techniques and research methodology in Economics.
- To promote students to get knowledge of economics with research.
- To motivate students to use economic theories in the contemporary society.
* Aim:
To achieve excellence in imparting economic education with a view to promote the larger interest of the society.
