Employment & Self Employment Centre , Amdar Shashikant Shinde Mahavidyalay, Medha has arranged various activities in academic year 2013-14.
Campus Interviews :
Centre arranged "Campus Interviews" on 13/08/2014 for Commerce students with Rishabh Quick Services & Shramik Mahila bachat Sahakari Sanstha, Medha. Total 55 Students Appeared for interviews & 32 among them selected as "Marketing Executives." Prin. Dr. M. B.Waghmode, Prof. A.A. Desai & Prof. S.V. Nalawade planned & organized the programme.
Lecture on Entrepreneurship Development :
Centre arranged a guest lecture on “Entrepreneurship Development” on 16/01/2014 with Commerce Dept. Prof. Ganesh Vaske guided students about various Govt. Schemes of Entrepreneurship development. He enlightened and inspired students by giving examples of Successful Entrepreneurs. Nearly 100 Students was present for this programme.
Guidance on Interview Techniques :
For Developing interview skills among Students Centre arranged 5 days guidance programme from 3rd Feb to 7th Feb 2014 for B.com III students. Prof. D.S. Kale & Prof. S.V. Nalawade guided students about Preparing Resume & Techniques.
Employment Card Registration Camp :
The Centre in collaboration with Directorate of Employment & Self Employment, Govt. of Maharashtra organized Employment Card Registration Camp during 25th Feb to 10th March 2014. Total 110 students from Arts & Commerce faculty registered for employment card & Job Seeker Slip is given to the Students. Prof. Sujit Kasbe took special efforts to succeed the Camp.

Competitive examination Centre :
Competitive examination Centre is formed under Employment & Self employment Centre to prepare students for Competitive examinations like MPSE, UPSC and Banking Exams etc. Mr. Nagarkar S.R. is working as coordinator for it. This centre planned lectures of all faculty members to guide students. The centre gave great motivation to students for appearing competitive examinations.
Placement Agency :
Be-jobbed incorporation is well known placement agency working in Satara, Pune, and Mumbai region. Centre arranged seminar of Mr. Jadhav Sir (Director of be-jobbed incorporation) for B.A., B.com. B.sc. Students. After seminar he conduct interviews of interested students & selected 12 students for further training.
Soft Skill Development For Students :
Soft skills are very much important for employment in today's modern era. To develop such skills among students Centre organized a guest lecture of Dr. V.K. Sawant on 'Soft Skills Development for Students' on 19th September 2014 with department of commerce. He explained various soft skills essential for future professional life.
Career Opportunities in Commerce :
To give students detailed information of employment opportunities available for commerce students Centre with Department of commerce organized guest lecture of Dr. Gosavi (Director, Gourishankar Institute of Management) on 28th January 2015. He explained different paths of career after B.com.

On 26/08/2015 Yashwantrao Chavan institute of science, Satara has organized campus Interview of TATA Consultancy Services Ltd. for last year of degree students. Employment and self-employment Centre informed all students about the same and asked to contact if interested. 09 students of B.com. III were sent to "Campus Interviews" at Yashwantrao Chavan institute of science, Satara. One of them Miss. Shital Jagannath Shelar got selected in TATA Consultancy Services Ltd. after 4 rounds of Interview. Prin. Dr. M.B. Waghmode, Vice-Principal Dr. P.R. Ghatage, Prof. A.A. Desai & Prof. S.V. Nalawade guided the participants.
One day workshop on "Career options in Management" :
On 23rd December 2015 Placement cell & Dept. of commerce organized one day workshop on "Career options in Management", under lead college scheme. Prof. Amrita Kale and Prof. Jitendra Jamadar were the resource persons for the workshop. In the first session Prof. Amrita Kale delivered lecture on various career options available for commerce students in management. In second lecture Prof. Jitendra Jamadar expressed his views on recent career paths in Management sector. He also explained need of management for corporate sector in context of make in India. For this workshop total 80 students of Commerce Dept. were participated. Prin. Dr. M.B. Waghmode was the chairperson for this programme. Prof. Desai A.A. introduced the theme of workshop and Prof. Dhonde S. V. expressed vote of thanks.
Guest lecture on "Self-Employment after Graduation" :
Centre organized a guest lecture on "Self-Employment after graduation" with Botany Dept. on 29th Dec 2015. Dr. N.A. Ghanawat, (Vice Prin. Y.C.I.S. Satara) was the recourse person for the programme. He delivered the lecture with his self-experience in horticulture, gardening and floriculture. He also gives various examples to motivate students. Prin. Dr. M.B. Waghmode was the chairperson for the programme. Prof. Dr. Pawar introduced the programme and Prof. Kemdarne delivered vote of thanks.
For developing interview skills among Students Centre arranged 3 days guidance programme from 4th Feb to 6th Feb 2016 for B.com III students. Prof. D.S. Kale, Prof. A.A. Desai & Prof. S.V. Nalawade guided students about Interview Techniques. Prof. S.R. Shinde practically guided students about preparing resume and application letter. 52 students of B.com III participated in this activity and prepared their resumes.
Competitive Exam Guidance Centre :
Competitive Exam Guidance Centre is formed under Employment and self- employment Centre for enhancing students’ knowledge and empowering them for various competitive examinations. Librarian Sudhir Nagarkar is coordinator of this center. The center organized various guest lectures for students regarding competitive exams. This center also planned a schedule of regular daily lectures of college teachers to guide students about various subjects of competitive exams. 85 students of Arts, Commerce & Science faculty were benefited by this activity.
Discussion with Govt. Officials :
Coordinator of Placement Cell Shri. Amey Desai visited Maharashtra Udyojakta Vikas Kendra and District Industrial Centre (DIC) on 23rd January, 2016 for getting information of various govt. schemes regarding self employment and various govt. Courses. The information is shared with students. He also visited IDBI self- employment training center at Satara and discussed with officials about various courses conducted by them. The officials of IDBI self-employment training center assured that they will organize special training course for Amdar Shashikant Shinde Mahavidyalay's students next year.
All the activities taken in academic year 2015-16 were discussed in review meeting of committee on 30th April, 2016. Principal Dr. M.B. Waghmode and Vice-principal Dr. P.R. Ghatage gives satisfactory remark to work of Placement Cell. And they suggested to start skill development courses with government, semi government institutes and NGO’s for our students in next academic year.
